I am so excited to announce that I will be appearing on the second series of Make It At Market on BBC 1. Series 2 starts on Monday, 27 November at 4.30pm.
So it all started when I received a message from a friend who said I should apply for the show. I had seen it last year so was already warmed up to the idea and after a couple of conversations and meetings with the production team I found out a couple of weeks later that I was on the show! Imagine that, the first mosaic artist to have been selected out of thousands of applicants. What an achievement!
After hearing the news it was pretty much full on creating and getting myself ready for filming over the Summer. I had to produce a high volume piece, my favourite piece and a high end piece. Luckily I already had my my high volume piece and high end pieces sorted but the favourite piece was a little more challenging. You will have to watch the show to find out how all of these pieces came out.
The show was filmed at the gorgeous Waterperry Gardens in Oxford where we were graced with such glorious weather over the three days spent filming. It was amazing meeting all the other artists who are incredibly talented, honestly I felt truly humbled to be amongst such amazingly skilled individuals. The presenter, Dominic Chinea was an absolute gentleman and so down to earth. Just a regular guy with a passion just like ours.
Each artist had a mentor and I was blessed to have mixed media artist Sharon Walters who was bold not only in her appearance but her mentorship too. She put me through my paces at times and pushed me, lovingly, outside of my comfort zone. An amazing person and I am truly grateful to have had her as a mentor.
Anyway, the whole experience was unforgettable, life changing and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to showcase my artistry and passion to the world.
My particular episode will be shown on Friday, 1 December at 4.3pm.
I hope you’ll be watching!
